Combining Performance & Quality Improvement with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Having a DEI lens to data and research is paramount to using information in ways that liberate instead of oppress. All individuals hold implicit biases that can inaccurately and inequitably represent information at every step of the research process. Thinking of data, especially certain kinds or data and research methods, as objective is inherently biased as hegemonic forms of knowledge production have historically been privileged over forms of knowledge on the margins that have been both ignored and suppressed.
